    Girls desk area DIY

… I wanted to share this nook in our daughters room with you all.  We first thought we wanted it to be added storage space, but then we thought about making it into our desk area for our girls!  I thought this little nook refresh would interest and maybe even inspire you.   BEFORE We had a custom desk built by @woodworksbyjared and we couldn’t be happier on how it turned out!  He is so talented and is an amazing woodworker. He builds anything from desks, to benches, to tables!  The brackets are also custom by @blackout_fab256 I’ve linked both of their Instagram accounts, just click on their names to view more…

    All about open shelving!

… I wanted to share our open shelves in our kitchen with you guys.  I always get a ton of questions when I share them so I thought I would give you guys the info here on the blog.  We recently completed a huge home renovation and our kitchen was one of the spaces we chose to update.  You can see the before here. The boards we used for the shelves are 2×12 southern pine boards, cut to length + sanded round the edges. We stained them in early American stain.  You can also rub butcher block sealer on top for easy cleaning.  We got the brackets off of Amazon.…

    Easy DIY garland

.. Today with our girls, I am making a super easy fruit garland to add to our tree.  It’s a fun activity to get the kids involved in helping and away from the devices if you know what I mean!  I used limes, oranges, and grapefruit.  I sliced them thin, see here below: I preheated our oven to 200 or the lowest setting.  Lined a few baking sheets with parchment paper and put the fruit slices on them. I put the pans in the oven for 2 hours, then I flipped them and put them back in for 3 hours.  After that, I left them to dry out overnight then…

    DIY bathroom wall

.. I have been dying to add a little something extra to our stark white guest bathroom.  I was inspired by some friends on Instagram as well as Rae Dunn’s art on my drinking glass!  I love this pattern: I had some extra fusion mineral paint and a few sponges so I thought I would give it a shot.  Took me about 20 minutes total.  Here’s my supplies and the paint I used: I love this color by fusion mineral paint!  It’s called “Damask” and it’s a mauve’ish pink.  I simply poured a little paint on a paper plate and dipped my sponge in the paint, then I got the…

I am so excited to tell the world that our kitchen renovation is complete!  I shared one side of our kitchen a few weeks ago on our Instagram page and here on our blog.  I got a lot of inquiries on our cabinets and where they are from.  I am proud to share the cabinets you see below are our existing cabinets.  We just simply reworked them to fit our design style.  When we first bought our home, the first project we tackled was painting our kitchen cabinets.  I called it phase 1…

    Girls bathroom reveal

.. Thank you Vintage Tub and Bath for sponsoring this post!  The opinions expressed in this post are my own. I grew up in the house my Mother grew up in.  We all shared one bathroom.  I always dreamed of having my own space with a vintage claw foot tub like you see on the princess movies.  That was my inspiration for our girls’ bathroom!  Let’s start with a good before of the space! We gutted the space down to the studs.  Since the existing space had a walk in shower, I knew to stay on budget, I needed to order a stand alone tub.  I found an amazing set…

    Our Kitchen with Sinkology

…  Thank you Sinkology for sponsoring this post.  The opinions expressed here are my own. With school starting back next week, our home renovation could not have finished at a better time.  I am so thankful to have our kitchen back!  If you have been through a recent renovation, you know what I am talking about.  I have missed organization, the kids being on a schedule, and our family time.   Here is a good before shot of our kitchen when we moved in: Our kitchen is one of the reasons we love this home.  We love that it opens up to our dining area.  When we started our renovation,…

Back to School with Dollar General

.. Thank you Dollar General for sponsoring this post!  The opinions expressed in this post are my own. I cannot believe I’m planning for our oldest to start “big school”, kindergarten. I have been so excited to share this project with you all!  We did this guest bathroom renovation on a budget and couldn’t be happier with the results.  As in “we” I mean our amazing contractor + his team!  One thing that was super important to us was our shower system.  It is one of the items we didn’t want to skimp on in here.  We found the perfect shower system from Build.com.  We chose to shop with Build.com because of the versatility of product selections, finishes, and anything “on trend”.  They also showcase top brands newest selections.  We chose the Signature Hardware…
