    Paint colors throughout our home

    . Our main color is the bright white.  You can use any brand of bright grab and go white just make sure it has primer in it.  Also make sure you get the correct finish for your trim and walls.  The higher the sheen the more durable the paint.  Semi-gloss is what we typically use for trim.  Satin for our walls.  Satin is middle of the road.  If you are using the same white for walls, ceilings, and trim pick a different finish for each and it doesn’t look like the same color.  As for ceilings or low traffic areas, a flat paint works well.   If you are interested in seeing…

    All about open shelving!

    … I wanted to share our open shelves in our kitchen with you guys.  I always get a ton of questions when I share them so I thought I would give you guys the info here on the blog.  We recently completed a huge home renovation and our kitchen was one of the spaces we chose to update.  You can see the before here. The boards we used for the shelves are 2×12 southern pine boards, cut to length + sanded round the edges.
